Samuel Shim

Sam began his legal career in the Cook County State's Attorney's Office in Chicago in 1992 where he prosecuted criminal cases. After his service as a prosecutor, he and his brother founded Shim & Kim in 1998.

Sam has tried hundreds of bench and jury trials in both state and federal courts and has prosecuted hundreds of cases before the Appellate Court and argued numerous cases before the Supreme Court of Illinois and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Sam represented clients in state and federal courts and before various local governmental commissions, state and federal agencies. 

Sam is a member of the federal trial bar and he is admitted to practice in Illinois, United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, and Executive Office for Immigration Review Board of Immigration Appeals.

Sam also serves as an adjunct professor at the DePaul College of Law.
